Talk: Terrorism and the Global Rule of Law – A European Perspective
Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas from Queen Mary College, University of London will speak at York University on Monday, March 8th from 10 am-noon on “Terrorism and the Global Rule of Law – A European Perspective”. The talk will take place in room S805 Ross Building (#28 on the map found here).
Valsamis Mitsilegas is Professor of European Criminal Law at Queen Mary, University of London. From 2001 to 2005 he was legal adviser to the House of Lords European Union Committee. He is a regular consultant to parliaments, governments, EU institutions, international organisations and NGOs. He was Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee for their inquiry on European Union Justice and Home Affairs issues and to the House of Lords European Union Committee for their inquiry on the European Border Agency (FRONTEX). He is a member of the Management Committee of the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN). He has published widely in the field of EU law (in particular on EU Justice and Home Affairs) and in the field of law, security and
trans-national crime. His latest monograph is EU Criminal Law (Hart, 2009).
